The start of a new year often brings fresh optimism and hopeful ambitions. Lasting success and a healthier lifestyle come from setting goals that are both practical and attainable.

• Review your current habits and routines

Identifying areas of your lifestyle that could use some improvement allows you to set goals that genuinely support your overall well-being. Health priorities differ for everyone, so aligning your goals with your unique needs is essential for lasting success.

• Start small

Rather than making drastic changes all at once, aim for small, gradual adjustments. For instance, if your goal is to be more active, begin with a routine that comfortably fits your schedule, like a short daily walk, or simply choosing a form of movement that suits you. As your fitness improves, you can slowly increase the intensity and duration. Starting at a steady pace will feel less overwhelming and help prevent the risk of overexertion.

Saying you want to “be healthier”, “exercise more” or “eat better” are goals which are practically impossible to track.
